Job
Responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, and directs the overall operations of the Nursing Services and medical records departments to provide comprehensive, holistic care for residents, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations; maintains knowledge of current federal, state, and local regulations and professional standards.
Develops within the guidelines established by the ED, the annual department operating budget.
Develops, monitors, and assures that scheduled nursing staff meet resident acuity requirements and are within DOH regulations and approved budget requirements.
Establishes and maintains standards, policies and procedures of the day-to-day functions of the Nursing department to ensures compliance with requirements of all regulatory agencies.
Participates in surveys of regulatory and government agencies and assumes the lead role in providing a plan of correction for any deficiencies related to nursing services and medical records.
Oversees all nursing documentation in the medical records, including review of Resident care plans, ensuring that all care plans are completed in a timely manner and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsible for listening to and appropriately following up on Resident family member complaints related to nursing services in requested timeframes.
Evaluates objectively the performance of assigned staff and motivates staff to achieve department and facility goals and objectives.
Ensures that associate supervision, disciplinary actions, and evaluations are consistent with Human Resources policies.
Coordinates and implements quality assurance, effective risk management, infection control, and Resident/Associate healthcare programs within the department.
Reviews and monitors nursing communications to include eight and twenty-four hours shift reports and the daily census reports.
Evaluates the process by which care plan goals and approaches are integrated with care given to residents to ensure that the facility meets regulatory agency requirements and nursing department standards.
Makes rounds to evaluate care, establish nursing and facility compliance with regulatory and facility standards, review and visit residents with complex care issues.
Conducts nursing staff meetings at least monthly to include all shifts to facility communications within the department.
Ensures that investigations of associate and resident incident reports are conducted, corrective action implemented and followed up on.
Ensures policy and procedure manuals related to nursing services, patient care policies, nursing practice manual, and personnel policies are current, reviews and updates manuals as needed.
Oversees the recruitment and employment of all pertinent operational staff including interview processes in consultation with the HR department.
Serves as nursing on-call on a rotation basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years experience in medical/surgical, rehab, or geriatric nursing including two (2) years experience as a Charge Nurse in geriatric care with progressive experience in an administrative and supervisory capacity.
Knowledge of Federal and State regulations for long-term care is desired.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing RequiredCertification in gerontology preferred.
Current Registered Nurse License from the State of Maryland.
Current CPR and IV certification.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
