Medicine Aide

Job Requirements:

The Certified Medecine Aid performs the following:

Reports controlled substances forms needed promplty to charge nurse.
Meets with supervisors and staff to report, review and discuss medication administration process and participate in review response.
Accurately and safely prepares and administers oral, optic, nasal, rectal and topical medications prescribed by the physician.
Verifies the identity of the resident before administering medication or treatment; checks medication three times before administering for correct resident, drug, dosage, form, route and accurate time and frequency.
Maintains inventory and store pharmaceutical items in correct places.
Re-orders and replaces medications and medication administration supplies, as needed.

Experience:

One year of experience as a Certified Medicine Aide

Education:

Current Maryland Medicine Aide Certification

Current Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant Certification



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
