The hotel laundry attendant position reports directly to the executive housekeeper and is responsible for maintaining a constantly supply of clean linens and towels for the hotel. The individual will pre-sort linens to locate and salvage stained or torn items. Record counts for discarded linens. Load and operate commercial washers and dryers. Fold and stack towels, sheets and other linens. Inspect linens for stains/tears. Report equipment problems to maintenance. Clean laundry rooms, storerooms and organize storage areas. Store clean linen on storage selves in laundry room and rotate linen as needed. Use folding machine for folding linen. Assist with linen inventory, when needed. Participate in the culture that strives to meet or exceed customer expectations. Recognize, report, and correct conditions which may create security and safety hazards. Understand and adhere to policies and procedures for the key control system of the organization. Participate in on-going safety training.
Requirements
Ability to report to work on time and on schedule. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form. Ability to learn, follow and enforce laundry procedures and standards. Ability to follow all safety procedures and standards and capable of appropriate response to emergency situations.
